Essilor® Stellest® Eyeglass Lenses

Essilor® Stellest® spectacle lenses are designed to slow myopia progression while correcting refractive error in children with myopia. The effectiveness of the Essilor Stellest lens is evidenced by clinical data showing that the lens slowed myopia progression by 71% on average over two years.

These spectacle lenses consist of a single vision zone to correct myopia refractive error and a myopia progression control zone made with Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target (HALT) technology. The prescription surfacing is made on the back surface of the lens to obtain the appropriate refraction (to correct myopia and astigmatism). The HALT lenslets are placed on the front surface of the lens and are nearly invisible. The aspheric geometry of the lenslets does not focus light at a single point but instead distributes it across a range in front of the retina. This volume of myopic defocus created by the lenslets provides the slowing of the myopia progression signal.
